WE’RE BACK…FACE TO FACE IN 2021!

Are you ready for this!? As we begin the 2021-2022 school year, I think we are all hopeful that we can get back to some semblance of “normal” and that does mean a face to face conference in November. I can’t wait to see everyone and have the opportunity to actually participate in the activities instead of hearing about them and/or watching a video!

SCAHPERD 2021 Annual Conference, November 12-14 WILL NOT DISAPPOINT! The 2021 Conference Planning Committee, led by Mike Lally, has been hard at work securing outstanding presenters, planning other special events and promotions and have put together an incredible conference. Our keynote speaker, Jamie Sparks, a former SHAPE America president and the KY SHAPE executive director will bring energy and enthusiasm as he challenges us at the general session. Our SCAPES’ pre-conference workshops will be led by Southern District Teachers of the Year, JD Hughes (PE2theMax), Dave Senecal (PEPalooza) and Mike Morris (OPEN). Don’t miss SCDA’s guest artist, Cisco Graciano, who has extensive experience with dance and choreography. While our invited presenters are outstanding, our own SC colleagues round out a slate of presentations that will provide a weekend of exceptional professional development. And don’t forget our Future Professional’s SuperStars, new and returning exhibitors, Awards Dinner, Conference Wide Social, Kaleidoscope…LEARNING, PARTICIPATING and FUN that WILL NOT DISAPPOINT! HOW DO I GET THERE?

Want to learn ways to get your principal to let you go to the conference, join Holly Kut for an upcoming webinar (day and time TBA).  She will provide talking points and rationale you can share with your principal regarding how this professional development experience can benefit you, your program and your students. Tips on getting access to funding will also be presented. 

SC FitMe IS BACK!

SCAHPERD’s SC FitMe is back up and running in 2021-2022. If you have not heard, SC FitMe is a school based, online educational program designed to assist schools with fund raising while promoting physically active lifestyles and wellness in our students, schools, communities and throughout the state of South Carolina. The great news is schools get to keep 60% of the funds raised (gross, not net) in CASH, not equipment gift certificates! An informational webinar will be presented at the end of August.
