SCAHPERD HONOR AWARD CRITERIA

The HONOR AWARD is the highest award given by SCAHPERD. Recipients represent the role models for students, clients and professional of SCAHPERD.

The nominee shall be: at least 40 years of age; a current member of SCAHPERD; known for high professional and personal standards and performance, and a worthy role model. Additionally, the nominee must have been a member of SCAHPERD for the most recent ten (10) years.

The evaluation criteria include: Exemplifies qualities of an outstanding professional through prominent contributions to SCAHPERD and its associations; demonstrates pioneer leadership in the profession, meritorious service to allied fields and prominent community service; and makes professional presentations in support of profession’s mission.

SCAHPERD DISTINGUISHED ORGANIZATION AWARD CRITERIA

The DISTINGUISHED ORGANIZATION AWARD recognizes organizations that have promoted and/or advanced the mission of SCAHPERD in South Carolina.

To be eligible the organization must be chartered or incorporated in South Carolina for, at least, the five (5) years prior to the nomination.  Additionally it cannot be an association within SCAHPERD.

The evaluation criteria include: Promotion or advancement of SCAHPERD’s mission through sustained, significant contributions in one or more of the following areas: Education, legislation/regulation, and/or community/statewide programs.

JUDITH E. RINK ADVOCACY AWARD

The JUDITH E. RINK ADVOCACY AWARD recognizes a person who has significantly promoted and/or advanced the mission of SCAHPERD in South Carolina.

To be eligible the nominee must be: a resident of South Carolina; not be in a profession or employment area in which the members are reasonably considered candidates for membership in SCAHPERD; and may not have been a member of SCAHPERD for the most recent five (5) years.

The evaluation criteria include: Promotion or advancement of SCAHPERD’s mission through sustained significant contributions in one or more of these areas: Education, legislation/regulation, community and/or statewide programs, and/or personal leadership, with integrity, in non-traditional areas.

SCAHPERD Scholar Award

Candidate Qualifications

The candidate must:

A. Have been a member in good standing for the three years immediately preceding nomination, and:

B. Made significant scholarly contributions to the profession while residing in South Carolina. "Scholarly" shall be construed to include research, publications, and/or presentations that contribute to the knowledge that underlies the profession OR "creative publication" which may include visual and sonic recordings of public performances of creative endeavors as well as typological presentations that break new ground.
