Call for Proposed Changes to the SCAHPERD Constitution or By-Laws

In accordance with the SCAHPERD By-Laws, if any seven (7) members wish to propose changes to the SCAHPERD Constitution or By-Laws, those proposed changes must be sent to the Constitution Committee by 10:00 PM on October 4, 2021. This allows the Constitution Committee time to review the proposed changes, check for consistency with other SCAHPERD documents and to send the proposals to the SCAHPERD membership three-weeks prior to the annual business meeting at the SCAHPERD conference. The annual business meeting of SCAHPERD shall be held as part of the annual SCAHPERD Conference in Myrtle Beach on November 14, 2021.

Article IX

Procedures for Amending

Section 1.

The Constitution and By-Laws may be amended at any regular business meeting of SCAHPERD by a two-thirds vote of the members present, provided that the proposed amendments were sent to the members three weeks in advance of the meeting.  Articles and sections may be re-numbered or re-lettered by the Board of Directors without a vote by the membership when such changes do not result in any substantive changes in the meaning or intent of the Constitution or By-Laws.

Section 2.

When the proposal is not initiated by the Constitution Committee a minimum of seven (7) SCAHPERD members must sign a request for amending the Constitution or By-Laws.
