SCAAHE is Committed to Making a Difference in our Profession!
The past year has brought many challenges and constant adjustments. It is no longer business as usual with a fluctuating pandemic. However, one thing that has not changed is our hope and determination for healthier schools and communities. SCAAHE is committed to making a difference in our profession where we can. Membership and service are key ingredients for organizational success. SCAAHE has been very busy serving our members by offering webinars this spring and summer. We had great response to WE ALL EAT, Ripple Effect Mapping, and Adverse Childhood Experiences 101 and the Role of COVID 19. We just ended out webinars with a 3-part Advocacy Lunch and Learn Webinar Series. Phil Ford and Meg Stanley, with WholeSpire (formerly Eat Smart, Move More, SC). We believe advocacy and knowing strategies to influence the leadership vitally important as we seek to become a healthier community and state. All of these webinars are available in the Members Only page for all members.
Special thanks are in order for Lara Peck, SCAAHE President Elect, for her hard work and vision in developing these webinars. Also, we appreciate Erica Ayers, a former past president, for securing CHES continuing education contact hours for each of the webinars. What a great service this provides for members as all of the webinars were FREE to members! Keep watching – we plan to continue to do more!! If you have ideas of things you would like to see and/or present, please contact Lara Peck at Lara.Peck@prismahealth.org.
We are even more excited and have been working diligently on the SCAAHE program schedule for the 2021 SCAHPERD Annual Conference, November 12-14, in Myrtle Beach. We are thrilled to be back face to face and that we have an opportunity to reconnect with our members! The conference program has timely, diverse, and thought-provoking sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills. Registration will open in mid-August so be looking for the announcement. We hope to see you there! CHES credits will be available!
Here’s to a Healthy Fall!
