Greetings from the SCAHPERD Future Professionals Association (SCAFP)! This fall we added some new faces to SCAFP and are excited to get to work on plans for this spring and next fall. The new president, Garret Bowers (Winthrop University) Vice President, Wyatt Olson (Winthrop University), and future professionals faculty advisor, Dr. Adam Keath (Winthrop University) rounded out the new leadership positions. We still have two open FP positions including treasurer and member at large and also need to fill FP spots on the existing SCAHPERD standing committees. To keep with the theme of the last twelve months we have had to adjust our plans based on COVID-19 protocols. Many universities have suspended travel and restrictions prevent us from gathering in large groups. With that in mind we’ve attempted to be creative in coming up with a spring workshop plan. This spring SCAFP will host a competitive virtual workshop. Each university will take elements of a webinar and put them into practice by creating their own game variation. SCAFP members will vote on the best game designs and we will crown a champion. Our tentative date for this workshop will be April 16th so mark your calendars and be on the lookout for more details. 

As we hopefully return to a new form of normal, there is a tremendous need for health, physical education and dance, as students return to the classroom. As future professionals many of you have first-hand experience dealing with distance education in a trying time. Now is a great time to step forward and let your insight be heard. Please reach out and join a committee or get connected with your future professionals leadership to help guide SCAHPERD into the future.
