Adverse Childhood Experiences 101 and the Role of COVID-19

Thursday, April 29, 2021

3:00pm – 4:00pm

Presented by Michael Shirley, BS, Director of Community and Workforce Development and Aditi Srivastav Bussells, Ph.D., M.P.H., Director of Research, The Children’s Trust of SC

Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are traumatic events that occur in a child’s life. Science shows the strong relationship between the bad things that happen as children and negative health and well-being as adults. By better understanding ACEs, what they are and how they can manifest themselves years later, communities can work to improve outcomes for South Carolina’s children and families.  Join us as we reflect on the role COVID-19 may be playing related to child well-being.

Free CHES/MCHES credits (1 hr.) are pending (as of 03/31/21).

FREE FOR SCAAHE AND SCAHPERD MEMBERS; $25 FOR NON-MEMBERS
